James,

Sounds great! I appreciate your continued support of your customers and particularly like the "watch me as I do this" videos. Looking forward to this one.

Alan

James @ 4:04 pm

I have almost finished editing - boy it is big. The site hit page one of google within 24 hours!

The video is being loaded to the site right now - it is in two parts because of the size.

I really appreciated your moment by moment lists as they enabled me to go right to the more advanced parts that interested me. After completely redoing a huge old Dreamweaver site in XSP2, I did get a pretty good handle on a lot of the details of XSP2. The site I did over isn't so much a commercial venture as a labor of love, a site about the science fiction of Cordwainer Smith who was my father. It may interest some people as an example of a big site re-do.

James @ 1:39 am

Hi Rosana,

Thanks for the feedback about the list. A good client recommended I include a list for that exact purpose and I'll make sure I keep doing it for any video over five minutes long.

If I had broken up this case study into small parts I would have ended up with twenty videos and a production nightmare.

Regards

James

ps. Always open to ideas about future case studies for beginner, intermediate or advanced topics.

Well you have done it again!

Man I had no intention of spending 1.5 hours watching your video as I put the time today to spend on my site but low and behold once I started to watch it I could not stop.

Results you made for the work you did are crazy,

Rich

James @ 6:23 am

Sorry to distract you ;)

Oh, well. Wait for the next one….

Darrell @ 6:19 pm

James,

I've had XSitePro since it was launched, but I've learned some things in the past few hours from your video that I didn't know how to implement.

The only down side is I now have to go back to my sites and incorporate some of the excellent ideas you've shown me.

A first-class video; your on-going commitment to your customers is amazing.

Best wishes

Darrell

Hi James,

I'm having an awful time trying to watch the first video. It plays fine for around 25-28 minutes and then it sticks and stops playing. I've tried forward, backward, pause, etc and I can't get it to move. I've started it over again 3 times and it gets in that time range and sticks again. It's maddening! The second video is perfect, no problems at all.

I don't understand what could be wrong. Does anyone have any suggestions?

It may be my computer. It seems as though I recall this happening with one of the StomperNet videos.

Hi Joe,

It is most likely to do with your internet connection speed. I have to balance quality with speed.

It should stream clearly on ADSL - there is a download there so you can watch it directly - it is a large file so it will take a while to load.

Regards

James

Joe @ 3:39 am

Hi James,

Actually I'm on high speed cable. I tried to download the videos too, but I got a message that said "Internet Explorer is unable to download file xyz". Very strange.

Has anyone else ever had this kind of trouble? I'm certain it's my computer and not the videos.

It's so strange that video "B" plays perfect and I can move it back and forth freely, but video "A" gets stuck at the same area every time. I'm stumped.
